Dr. Svetlana Chamoun, MD, PhD, FACC, DipABLM, has a remarkable career as a clinician, physician leader, educator, author, and advocate in the realms of cardiology, physician wellness, and lifestyle medicine.
As founder and CEO of CardioSeeds LLC and creator/host of the CardioSeeds Podcast, she merges her expertise in cardiovascular prevention and healthcare professional wellness to inspire and educate others. With dual board certifications in cardiology and lifestyle medicine, Dr. Chamoun also holds pivotal roles within the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, including co-chair of the Cardiology Member Interest Group and founding chair of the Work-Life Balance and Cardiovascular Health subcommittee.
At CardioSeeds, Dr. Chamoun explores the critical connections between chronic workplace-related stress, burnout, and cardiovascular health among healthcare professionals. She developed the RECLAIM by CardioSeeds programs, grounded in the principles of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. These programs are specifically designed to mitigate stress and burnout, thereby reducing the risk of chronic diseases and enhancing overall health and wellness, with a particular focus on women physicians. As a leader of the Work-Life Balance and Cardiovascular Health subcommittee within the ACLM, Dr. Chamoun advocates for initiatives that improve wellness and cardiovascular safety for healthcare professionals through effective stress management techniques.
Dr. Chamoun is the author of "Resilience in Scrubs: Thriving as a Woman Resident Physician" (available on Amazon in Kindle and paperback) and "The Woman Physician’s Survival Guide: Thriving from Residency Through Retirement" (now available on Amazon in Kindle format and on the Healthy Learning website in e-reader and paperback formats). These books are crafted to support women physicians through the unique challenges of their medical careers, offering strategies for managing stress, fostering resilience, and achieving a balanced, fulfilling life in medicine.
Dr. Chamoun’s commitment extends into widespread educational efforts. Through the CardioSeeds podcast, YouTube channel, public speaking, and an array of publications and educational presentations, she disseminates valuable knowledge on wellness, resilience techniques, and lifestyle medicine’s role in cardiovascular risk reduction, aiming to impact patients, families, and healthcare providers globally.
As a part of this effort, Dr. Chamoun is creating a new educational tabletop game called Wellness Farm by CardioSeeds™. The game is designed to teach young children about healthy lifestyle habits in a fun and engaging way. Wellness Farm by CardioSeeds™ is set to be released in 2025, expanding the reach of CardioSeeds’ mission to promote wellness and healthy living.
